Vampire: The Masquerade - Redemption is a role-playing game based on the popular Vampire: The Masquerade tabletop RPG. In this game, you take control of Christof, a medieval night who becomes a vampire and battles across the centuries to regain both his lost humanity and his beloved Anezka.
Angst, guilt and a lot of stabbing
Vampire: The Masquerade - Redemption draws on the themes and characters of the tabletop game, but it's a largely linear narrative with few opportunities for player choice. Your choices do have some influence on your character's Humanity, the score that determines which of the game's endings you will receive. To help you on your quest, you'll use a suite of powerful vampiric abilities, but these powers will drain your blood supply. To replenish it, you'll need to feed on enemies -- or on hapless innocents. Along the way, you'll also gain a group of allies to help you out in battle; you'll need to keep an eye on their blood supplies as well as your own. Although the game begins in the middle ages, the setting eventually shifts to modern-day London and New York, where the plots begun centuries ago are just reaching fruition.
Accept the Embrace
Vampire: The Masquerade - Redemption is an enjoyable, if linear, RPG, especially for fans of the World of Darkness who don't mind seeing liberties taken with the setting.
